High-performance barrier and absorber composites, engineered to reduce noise and vibration from pipes, ducts, and HVAC systems.

Quiet the Source of Flow and Pipe Vibration Noise
HVAC ducts, fan housings, valves, pumps, and piping networks can transmit significant airborne and structure-borne noise throughout a building, affecting comfort, privacy, and OSHA compliance.
Memtech designs and supplies a full line of pipe and duct lagging composites engineered to reduce airborne noise radiating from ductwork, piping, and mechanical housings for commercial, institutional, and industrial environments.
Memtech designs and supplies a full line of pipe and duct lagging composites engineered to reduce airborne noise radiating from ductwork, piping, and mechanical housings for commercial, institutional, and industrial environments.
These composite wraps integrate:
- A flexible noise barrier layer (typically loaded vinyl or composite membrane)
- A decoupled acoustic absorber (fiberglass or foam) to reduce vibration and air/fluid flow noise
- A protective facing (reinforced foil, Mylar, or vinyl) for easy cleaning, moisture resistance, and durability

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
What noise sources does acoustic duct and pipe wrap address?
It primarily reduces airborne noise radiating from ducts, piping, and equipment casings, particularly from turbulent air or mechanical vibration.
Can this material also provide thermal insulation?
Yes. The absorber layer helps maintain temperature control, offering both acoustic and thermal benefits.
Is it suitable for outdoor use?
Yes. Weatherproof models with reinforced vinyl facings protect against moisture, UV exposure, and temperature changes.
How is it installed?
Wraps are cut to length and secured around the duct or pipe with banding, tape, or mechanical fasteners. Memtech provides field installation details and guidance.
What’s the difference between B-10 and B-20 products?
The main difference is barrier mass. B-10 uses a 1 lb/ft² barrier for standard applications. B-20 doubles that density (2 lb/ft²) for higher noise levels or greater isolation requirements.
How do the QFA-3 and QFA-9 options differ?
They refer to absorber thickness: QFA-3 uses a 1" fiberglass quilted absorber while QFA-9 uses a 2" absorber, providing better low-frequency attenuation. Thicker absorbers are ideal for large ducts, chillers, or broadband mechanical noise.
Do you provide turnkey services?
Yes. We provide full-service delivery, measurement, engineering, design/build, installation, and post-installation validation. You receive a complete, proven solution from one, accountable partner.
What’s the typical lead time for material supply?
Most standard rolls are stocked and available within 2–3 weeks, with custom composites or outdoor-rated versions typically shipping in 4–6 weeks.
