Noise Control is in the Details.
Seal Every Gap. Stop Every Sound Path.

Even the strongest wall or enclosure can fail if gaps, seams, or surfaces are left untreated. Our products can help you achieve higher STC ratings, better speech privacy, and long-term confidence in your noise control investment.

The Unseen Path of Noise

Even the most advanced noise control system can fall short if small gaps, seams, or surface reflections are ignored. Sound travels through the tiniest openings and across untreated surfaces, reducing the effectiveness of walls, partitions, and enclosures.

That’s why Memtech specifies acoustic glues, sealants, and coatings as part of a complete engineered solution. These materials are not add-ons, they’re the finishing touches that ensure performance, compliance, and long-term durability.
Acoustic Sealants & Coatings are perfect for:
  • Seal gaps and penetrations to prevent noise leaks.
  • Improve the sound transmission class (STC) rating of walls, floors, and ceilings.
  • Reduce vibration transfer across joints and seams.
  • Seal electrical boxes, penetrations, and perimeters against leaks.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, HIPAA, and OSHA standards.
Each product is specified to deliver performance, ease of use, and compliance in both commercial and industrial applications.

Noise Control Essentials

Acoustic SEALANTS & COATINGS

QuietGlue® Pro
Acoustic Damping Glue

A high-performance viscoelastic damping compound designed to reduce sound transmission through walls, floors, and ceilings. Ideal for both DIY and commercial projects, QuietGlue® Pro is applied between layers of drywall, plywood, or subflooring to stop vibration at the source.
  • Easy application with a standard caulking gun.
  • Cost-effective for remodels, retrofits, and new builds.
  • Low VOC, water-based, solvent-free, and lab-tested.
  • Delivers broadband noise reduction across all frequencies.
Use for: drywall assemblies, subfloors, layered panels.
Acoustic SEALANTS & COATINGS

QuietSeal® Pro
Acoustic Sealant

A premium, non-hardening acoustical sealant that prevents sound leaks at wall perimeters, seams, and penetrations. QuietSeal® Pro stays soft and flexible over time, ensuring long-term performance without cracking or shrinking.
  • Maintains STC ratings by sealing flanking paths.
  • Easy soap-and-water cleanup.
  • Environmentally friendly: water-based, low VOC, and low odor.
  • Meets and exceeds ASTM C834 standards.
Use for: sealing wall perimeters, electrical boxes, HVAC penetrations, or anywhere air gaps occur.
Acoustic SEALANTS & COATINGS

QuietCoat® –
Acoustic Damping Coating

A sprayable viscoelastic polymer designed for metal and composite surfaces. QuietCoat® reduces vibration and structure-borne noise with minimal weight and cost, making it a go-to solution for industrial, OEM, and architectural applications.
  • Typical noise reduction: 6dB–20dB.
  • Fast-drying (under 20 minutes), water-soluble, and RoHS compliant.
  • Meets industry flammability standards.
  • Easy application by brush, roller, or sprayer.
Use for: HVAC ducts, appliances, machinery, enclosures, automotive parts, elevators, and more.
Acoustic SEALANTS & COATINGS

QuietPutty®
Acoustic Putty Pads

A Class A fire-rated putty that seals electrical outlet boxes, switches, and penetrations to preserve the acoustic performance of STC-rated assemblies. QuietPutty® stays soft, won’t shrink, and requires no tools for application.
  • Maintains long-term acoustic and fire-rated performance.
  • Provides draft and cold smoke sealing.
  • Noncorrosive, asbestos-free, and odorless.
  • Simple peel-and-press installation.
Use for: outlets, switches, cable penetrations, HVAC cutouts, plumbing penetrations.

Performance Specifications

Engineered to meet ASTM standards, RoHS compliance, and real-world noise control performance.

Noise Reduction

Viscoelastic damping compounds and coatings deliver typical reductions of 6–20 dB, depending on thickness and application

STC Performance Support

Assemblies treated with acoustic glues, sealants, and putties are tested in accordance with ASTM E90 and can achieve privacy index goals of 80–95% speech privacy, depending on construction

Fire Safety

Acoustic sealants and putties are Class A fire-rated, tested to ASTM E84 with flame spread ratings as low as 15 and smoke developed ratings as low as 10

Environmental Compliance

All products are low VOC (<0.1 g/L), water-based, solvent-free, and meet modern sustainability and occupant health standards

Durability & Flexibility

Sealants and putties remain pliable over time, preventing shrinkage or cracking that would compromise acoustic performance

Application Efficiency

Materials are designed for quick installation, covering 40–80 sq ft per gallon for coatings and up to 88 linear feet per tube for sealants, with curing times ranging from 24–72 hours

Applications / Use Cases

Acoustic adhesives, sealants, and coatings are essential in industries where privacy, compliance, and comfort can’t be compromised:
  • Commercial Construction
Improve partition ratings and eliminate weak points.
  • Healthcare Facilities
Seal patient room assemblies to support HIPAA compliance.
  • Industrial Plants
Dampen vibration in ducts, panels, and enclosures.
  • Education
Ensure classrooms, libraries, and lecture halls remain quiet and focused.
  • Government & Security
Protect sensitive spaces from sound leaks.
All materials are LEED-compliant and support sustainable building practices.
