Block the Noise.
Up to 32 STC Points. In Just 1/8 Inch.
Flexible, thin, and highly effective, MLV blends seamlessly into architectural and industrial environments while delivering exceptional noise isolation.

Acoustic Performance in a Compact Form
Mass-Loaded Vinyl ("MLV") is a dense, yet flexible sound barrier material designed to block airborne noise without adding unnecessary bulk.
Its engineered composition delivers impressive Sound Transmission Class (STC) ratings in a minimal thickness, making it ideal for retrofits, constrained spaces, or as part of multi-layer assemblies.
Unlike rigid barriers, MLV conforms to irregular surfaces, allowing for seamless integration in walls, ceilings, machinery enclosures, and partitions.

This product is perfect for:
- Walls, Ceilings & Floors in Renovation or Retrofit Projects
- Control Rooms, Studios & Office Partitions
- Piping, HVAC, and Mechanical Ductwork
- Automotive, Marine & Mobile Applications
- Mobile Sound Screens for Machinery & Generator Enclosures
Types of MLV

Mass-loaded vinyl
Reinforced
For demanding environments where strength, durability, and modular installation are critical.
- Features an interior mesh-like reinforcement for added tensile strength, tear resistance, and durability.
- Designed with grommet provision, enabling hanging as a curtain or wrapping machinery. Perfect for modular and temporary noise enclosures.
- Common applications include hanging around noisy equipment or machinery, extending walls into plenum spaces to form acoustic partitions, and use in demanding indoor environments where flexibility and robustness are essential.

Mass-loaded vinyl
Non-Reinforced
For applications where maximum flexibility and a smooth, uninterrupted surface are required.
- A flexible, pliable vinyl sheeting ideal for direct attachment to surfaces where reinforcement is not required.
- Best used in situations where MLV is wrapped within wall assemblies, under floors, or over ceilings to enhance sound-blocking with minimal bulk.
- Common applications include built-in retrofits for increasing STC in walls, ceilings, or floors, as well as concealed installations where reinforcement or exterior wear resistance is not necessary.
Performance Specifications

High Density, High Impact
1 lb/ft² (¼″) thickness delivers STC ~26; 2 lb/ft² achieves STC ~32
Boosts Whole‑Wall Performance
A single layer can boost STC by 5–10 points when added to a standard wall assembly
Non‑Resonant, Limp‑Mass Design
Its limp, mineral-weighted PVC (or EVA) structure disrupts sound transmission effectively, especially in mid to high frequencies
Fire and Moisture‑Resistant
Many MLV products meet Class A fire ratings and offer inherent water resistance, ideal for humid or code‑driven environments
Class‑Leading Durability
EVA-based variants outperform PVC in longevity, resisting brittle breakdown and off‑gassing over time
Space‑Efficient Sound Control
Delivers concrete‑like performance without the bulk. Perfect for retrofits, automotive cabins, stud-wall builds, and tight plenum spaces
Applications at a Glance
