Engineered Underlayments for Every Flooring Application
Footfall, furniture movement, and mechanical vibration can transmit through floors, degrading acoustic comfort and privacy between spaces. Acoustic floor underlayments create an engineered layer of isolation that absorbs impact energy and minimizes sound transmission.
Apartments or other facilities who deal with annoying noise being coupled from above-level units through plywood or similar rigid flooring materials will benefit greatly from the installation of underlayment material
Whether installed under tile, hardwood, carpet, or luxury vinyl, these high-performance underlayments meet stringent IIC (Impact Insulation Class) and STC (Sound Transmission Class) standards, ensuring compliance with IBC, LEED, and local building code requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
What type of noise do acoustic underlayments reduce?
They primarily reduce impact noise (footsteps, dropped objects) and airborne transmission through floor assemblies.
Can underlayments be used under any flooring material?
Yes. Systems are available for tile, vinyl, carpet, wood, and laminate. Memtech helps match the underlayment to each finish and subfloor type.
How much sound reduction can I expect?
Typical improvements range from 8–20 dB in IIC performance depending on assembly thickness and finish flooring.
Are these underlayments moisture-resistant?
Yes. Many systems include integrated vapor barriers or can be paired with membranes for moisture control.
Can acoustic underlayments be used with radiant heating?
Absolutely. Rubber and foam systems are compatible with radiant floor heat without affecting performance.
How are they installed?
Most underlayments can be rolled out and taped, glued, or floated under the finished floor. Memtech provides detailed installation drawings for each flooring type.
Do you provide turnkey services?
Yes. We provide full-service delivery, measurement, engineering, design/build, installation, and post-installation validation. You receive a complete, proven solution from one, accountable partner.
What’s the typical lead time for material supply?
Most standard rolls are stocked and available within 2–3 weeks, with custom composites or outdoor-rated versions typically shipping in 4–6 weeks.
